Texture Mapping

In these shots, the difference between flat-shading and texture-mapping graphics are demonstrated.
**Please note that all of the screenshots below were taken from the Meshmoon Virtual Learning Environment**



Examples of flat-shading:

These cars are examples of flat-shading graphics. They use the same color for every face of the graphic.

Certain spots on the grass are also flat-shading - the same shade of green is used.

Here, the back of the sign is also flat-shading. The same red color is used on all faces of the rear of the sign.
Examples of texture-mapping:



Here is an example of texture-mapping. Here, the street is layed out with a texture, or pattern, on all faces.


In this shot, a texture is also visible on the brick wall surrounding the parking lot.

Here, the side of the building is also a texture-mapping graphic.
