I tried all of the experiments posted as of 12:00pm on 11/20, and only one of them (Soundviz) would not work in Firefox. Just to note, I am using a newer iMac with the latest version of Firefox (33.1.1)

WebGL Chrome Experiments using Google's Chrome Browser
In this assignment, I look at some of Google's Chrome Experiments site to explore some 3D experiments that people have made using WebGL.

| The first experiment I chose was the SPH (Smoothed-particle hydrodynamics) Fluid Simulator. It is a very realistic and interesting simulation of fluid dynamics. http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/sph-and-marching-cubes-fluid-simulator/?f= |
![]() |
| I can also move the ball around in the tank to see how the fluid (presumably water) moves around and is displaced by the ball. |
![]() |
| This is a 3D simulation of neuron activity in the brain called the Artificial Neural Network. http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/artificial-neural-network/?f= |
![]() |
| This was also an interesting simulation - as you can see, there are many controls you can use to manipulate the neuron activity. You can adjust the speed, the intensity, or the size of the signals. |

| Here is some activity after I increased the number of signals. |

| The last 3D simulation I chose was the Car Visualizer. I've always loved cars, so this one seemed like a good choice. http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/car-visualizer/?f= |
![]() |
| I chose the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the rims they chose for the simulation, but unfortunately those can't be changed. |
![]() |
| There wasn't a ton of stuff I could do with the car, other than change the model and color. I was able to rotate it around to look at it from any angle though. |

Final #3: Group 3D Building Project
In this assignment, members of my group coordinated with each other to build a house in Meshmoon. I was responsible for building the house and the driveway.
Overall, once I got the hang of using the build tools, building the garage was not difficult, but a little time consuming due to the way I constructed it.
I chose to use smaller blocks to build the walls rather than large, flat cubes. To me, it was easier to do it this way to allow for the door and window openings. I was also able to snap all of them to a grid to ensure that all walls fit together perfectly.
In order to build this way, I created a single cube with the wall texture I wanted, and set a size. After doing this, I laid a "foundation" by cloning the cube to create an outline of the garage walls. Once I had the outline, I created a single flat floor piece. I also used this floor as a flat roof by cloning it and moving it to the top of the garage, and for the driveway by cloning two pieces and lining them up outside the garage.
The rest of the walls were built using the cloning method - I simply set a height and width based on the number of cubes I used, and filled the rest in.
This is an exercise focusing on team coordination to build a house and garage in Meshmoon. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
